This course will provide you with an overview of various nucleotide sequence and genome resources at the EBI with a focus on microorganisms. Participants should have a basic understanding of molecular biology.
Topics include
- retrieving nucleotide sequences using sequence searching (BLAST & FASTA)
- analysing nucleotide sequences using EMBOSS
- browsing annotated genomes using Ensembl Genomes
- manual annotation: Artemis
- datamining annotated genomes using BioMart
