Bioinformatics Workshop: Small molecule resources with EMBL-EBI - Cambridge, UK
An introduction to the chemical biology resources available from the EBI. The workshop will cover ontology and bio-activity data, structure representation and tools for protein-ligand investigation.
Audience
The workshop is aimed at PhD, post-doctoral researchers and principle investigators working in biology/pharmacology. It will be of use to participants who are looking for a basic introduction to chemical biology resources from the EBI.
Learning Objectives
After this course you should be able to...
· Learn how to search for small molecules and understand their chemical ontology and associated bioactivity data
· Learn about structure representation and search algorithms
· Understand how to extract bioactivity data to construct potential structure-activity relationships
Learn how to assess protein-ligand interactions and analyse binding sites to identify features important to ligand binding.
