The Bioinformatics Roadshow - Zimbabwe
The African Institute of Biomedical Science and Technology (AIBST) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Harare, Zimbabwe, that focuses on training African scientists to increase the continent's skilled human resource base. The centre combines biomedical research with training courses, with the goal of providing healthcare solutions for Africa through excellence in research and education. Prudence will be training staff and research students at AIBST and students enrolled for a postgraduate certificate course that includes a module on web-based resources for biomedical scientists.
Prudence's contribution will be a lecture-based overview of the EBI's data resources and tools, followed by a hands-on session in which the trainees will learn how, for a particular biomolecule of interest, researchers can use a combination of these resources and tools to accumulate biological information about it.
