EC Beta-D-glucopyranosyl abscisate beta-glucosidase. [-]

Reaction: D-glucopyranosyl abscisate + H(2)O = D-glucose + abscisate.

D-glucopyranosyl abscisate
+ H(2)O
Molecule diagrams generated from .mol files obtained from the KEGG ftp site.

Other name(s): ABA-beta-D-glucosidase. Beta-D-glucopyranosyl abscisate hydrolase.
Comments: The enzyme hydrolzes the biologically inactive beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester of abscisic acid to produce active abscisate. Abscisate is a phytohormone critical for plant growth, development and adaption to various stress conditions. The enzyme does not hydrolyze beta-D-glucopyranosyl zeatin.
