MACiE, which stands for Mechanism, Annotation and Classification in Enzymes, is a collaborative project between the Thornton Group at the European Bioinformatics Institute, the Bertini Group at the Magnetic Resonance Center (CERM) in Florence (Italy) with Metal-MACiE and the Mitchell Group at the University of St Andrews.
To run a search, use the pull down menus to select the search criteria and then click on the find button
E.g. Reactant = C00001 (water). Product = C03806 (substituted beta-amino acid) will return three reactions (M0002, M0015 and M0016)
This query allows the user to search for reactions which have a substrate or product within a given molecular weight or range of weights (in Daltons).
Please note this is implemented as a partial name match, thus entering phsophate will return any moleucle name which contains the word phosphate (e.g. 1-phosphatidyl-1D-myo-inositol 4,5-bisphosphate). to find only phosphates it is best to use one of the identifier searches (KEGG = C00009 or ChEBI = CHEBI:43474).
Please note that all ChEBI identifiers must be prefaced with 'CHEBI:', e.g. to search for all reactions involving water as a reactant, enter "CHEBI:15377"
Further, this query will only return results for entries directly annotated with a ChEBI identifier.
E.g. Reactant = CHEBI:15377 (water). Product = CHEBI:43474 (phosphate) will return four reactions in the first 100 MACiE entries (M0009, M0043, M0044 and M0047)
