Macromolecular Structure Database Group Projects - DATA MANAGEMENT MEETING
A closed Data Management Meeting was
held at the EBI on Friday 05 July 2002. The Meeting
reviewed the task of data representation and data management
from 'cradle to grave' for structural genomics.
The meeting focused on the EU-SPINE grant in the morning
session but then be expanded to include groups working
on related projects in the afternoon. This is because
there are several initiatives in Europe at present related
to high throughput protein crystallography in one way
or another. We have the funding for a good critical
mass of researchers, and it is important that we optimise
the use of these resources, avoid any possible overlaps,
and do not go off at a series of tangents with incompatible
efforts.
The aim is for key groups from each of the projects
to try to develop a unified strategy from the outset.
