PDB entry 9pap (supersedes 3pad,8pap)

STRUCTURE OF PAPAIN REFINED AT 1.65 ANGSTROMS RESOLUTION

The structure was published by Kamphuis, I.G., Kalk, K.H., Swarte, M.B., and Drenth, J., in 1984 in a paper entitled "Structure of papain refined at 1.65 A resolution" (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.65 Å and deposited in 1986.

The experimental data on which the structure is based was not deposited.

The PDB entry contains the structure of PAPAIN. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P00784 (PAPA1_CARPA)search. The sample contained 212 residues which is < 90% of the natural sequence. Out of 212 residues 211 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.

It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.

The molecule is most likely monomeric.
