The structure was published by Elder, I., Fisher, Z., Laipis, P.J., Tu, C., McKenna, R., and Silverman, D.N., in 2007 in a paper entitled "Structural and kinetic analysis of proton shuttle residues in the active site of human carbonic anhydrase III." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.7 Å and deposited in 2011.
