The structure was published by Avvaru, B.S., Kim, C.U., Sippel, K.H., et al., Agbandje-McKenna, M., Silverman, D.N., and McKenna, R., in 2010 in a paper entitled "A short, strong hydrogen bond in the active site of human carbonic anhydrase II." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 0.9 Å and deposited in 2009.
