The structure was published by Chao, L.H., Pellicena, P., Deindl, S., Barclay, L.A., Schulman, H., and Kuriyan, J., in 2010 in a paper entitled "Intersubunit capture of regulatory segments is a component of cooperative CaMKII activation." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 3.206 Å and deposited in 2009.
