Human glucokinase in complex with a synthetic activator
The structure was published by Mitsuya, M., Kamata, K., Bamba, M., et al., Nagata, Y., Eiki, J., and Nishimura, T., in 2009 in a paper entitled "Discovery of novel 3,6-disubstituted 2-pyridinecarboxamide derivatives as GK activators" (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.52 Å and deposited in 2009.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
The PDB entry contains the structure of Glucokinase. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P35557 (HXK4_HUMAN). The sample contained 455 residues which is 97% of the natural sequence. Out of 455 residues 448 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.
It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.
The molecule is most likely monomeric.
