The structure was published by Redzynia, I., Ljunggren, A., Abrahamson, M., et al., Krupa, J.C., Jaskolski, M., and Bujacz, G., in 2008 in a paper entitled "Displacement of the occluding loop by the parasite protein, chagasin, results in efficient inhibition of human cathepsin B." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.8 Å and deposited in 2008.
