The structure was published by Hanna, R.A., Campbell, R.L., and Davies, P.L., in 2008 in a paper entitled "Calcium-bound structure of calpain and its mechanism of inhibition by calpastatin." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.4 Å and deposited in 2007.
