Crystal Structure of Calcium-Saturated Calmodulin N-Terminal Domain Fragment, Residues 1-75
The structure was published by O'Donnell, S.E., Newman, R.A., Witt, T.J., et al., Froehlig, J.R., Christensen, A.P., and Shea, M.A., in 2009 in a paper entitled "Thermodynamics and conformational change governing domain-domain interactions of calmodulin." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.6 Å and deposited in 2007.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
The PDB entry contains the structure of Calmodulin. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P62161 (CALM_RAT). The sample contained 75 residues which is < 90% of the natural sequence. Out of 75 residues 73 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.
It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.
The molecule has more than one probable quaternary state observed. For more details see the quaternary structure page.
