Crystal structure of the human carbonic anhydrase related protein VIII

The structure was published by Picaud, S.S., Muniz, J.R.C., Kramm, A., et al., Kochan, G., Oppermann, U., and Yue, W.W., in 2009 in a paper entitled "Crystal Structure of Human Carbonic Anhydrase-Related Protein Viii Reveals the Basis for Catalytic Silencing." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.6 Å and deposited in 2008.

The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.

The PDB entry contains the structure of CARBONIC ANHYDRASE-RELATED PROTEIN. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P35219 (CAH8_HUMAN)search. The sample contained 291 residues which is 100% of the natural sequence. Out of 291 residues 265 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.

It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.

The molecule is most likely monomeric.
