PDB entry 2mhb (supersedes 1mhb)
THE STRUCTURE OF HORSE METHAEMOGLOBIN AT 2.0 ANGSTROMS RESOLUTION
The structure was published by Ladner, R.C., Heidner, E.J., and Perutz, M.F., in 1977 in a paper entitled "The structure of horse methaemoglobin at 2-0 A resolution." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.0 Å and deposited in 1977.
A re-refinement of this structure, using the same experimental data but carried out by different authors, is available as entry 1g0b.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
This PDB entry contains a complex of 2 biomacromolecules, namely HEMOGLOBIN (AQUO MET) (ALPHA CHAIN) and HEMOGLOBIN (AQUO MET) (BETA CHAIN).
It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.
The molecule most likely forms heterotetramers.
