Crystal structure of recombinant Dioclea guianensis lectin complexed with 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-a-D-mannose
The structure was published by Nagano, C.S., Calvete, J.J., Barettino, D., Perez, A., Cavada, B.S., and Sanz, L., in 2008 in a paper entitled "Insights Into the Structural Basis of the Ph-Dependent Dimer-Tetramer Equilibrium Through Crystallographic Analysis of Recombinant Diocleinae Lectins." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.1 Å and deposited in 2007.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
The PDB entry contains the structure of LECTIN ALPHA CHAIN. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P81637 (LECA_DIOGU). The sample contained 239 residues which is 100% of the natural sequence. Out of 239 residues 232 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.
It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.
The molecule most likely forms homotetramers.
