Crystal structure of the human carbonic anhydrase II in complex with the 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide inhibitor.
The structure was published by Menchise, V., De Simone, G., Di Fiore, A., Scozzafava, A., and Supuran, C.T., in 2006 in a paper entitled "Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors: X-ray crystallographic studies for the binding of 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide and 5-(4-amino-3-chloro-5-fluorophenylsulfonamido)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide to human isoform II." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.55 Å and deposited in 2006.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
The PDB entry contains the structure of Carbonic anhydrase 2. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P00918 (CAH2_HUMAN). The sample contained 259 residues which is 99% of the natural sequence. Out of 259 residues 257 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.
It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.
The molecule is most likely monomeric.
