2ec7 Summary

Solution Structure of Human Immunodificiency Virus Type-2 Nucleocapsid Protein

The structure was published by Matsui, T., Tanaka, T., Endoh, H., et al., Kohno, T., Maeda, T., and Kodera, Y., in 2009 in a paper entitled "The RNA recognition mechanism of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 2 NCp8 is different from that of HIV-1 NCp7" (abstract).

The structure was determined using NMR spectroscopy and deposited in 2007.

The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.

The PDB entry contains the structure of Gag polyprotein (Pr55Gag). This molecule has the UniProt identifier P18041 (GAG_HV2G1)search. The sample contained 49 residues which is < 90% of the natural sequence. Out of 49 residues 49 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.

It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.

The molecule is most likely monomeric.
