The structure was published by Deng, Y., Liu, J., Zheng, Q., Eliezer, D., Kallenbach, N.R., and Lu, M., in 2006 in a paper entitled "Antiparallel four-stranded coiled coil specified by a 3-3-1 hydrophobic heptad repeat." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.0 Å and deposited in 2005.
