The structure was published by Menchise, V., De Simone, G., Alterio, V., et al., Pedone, C., Scozzafava, A., and Supuran, C.T., in 2005 in a paper entitled "Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors: stacking with Phe131 determines active site binding region of inhibitors as exemplified by the X-ray crystal structure of a membrane-impermeant antitumor sulfonamide complexed with isozyme II" (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.0 Å and deposited in 2005.
