The structure was published by Ma, J.B., Yuan, Y.R., Meister, G., Pei, Y., Tuschl, T., and Patel, D.J., in 2005 in a paper entitled "Structural basis for 5'-end-specific recognition of guide RNA by the A. fulgidus Piwi protein." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.5 Å and deposited in 2005.
