The structure was published by Wood, E.R., Truesdale, A.T., McDonald, O.B., et al., Rusnak, D.W., Gilmer, T.M., and Shewchuk, L., in 2004 in a paper entitled "A unique structure for epidermal growth factor receptor bound to GW572016 (Lapatinib): relationships among protein conformation, inhibitor off-rate, and receptor activity in tumor cells." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.4 Å and deposited in 2004.
