AN ANTI-PARALLEL TO PARALLEL SWITCH.
The structure was published by Yadav, M.K., Leman, L.J., Price, D.J., Brooks, C.L., Stout, C.D., and Ghadiri, M.R., in 2006 in a paper entitled "Coiled Coils at the Edge of Configurational Heterogeneity. Structural Analyses of Parallel and Antiparallel Homotetrameric Coiled Coils Reveal Configurational Sensitivity to a Single Solvent-Exposed Amino Acid Substitution." (abstract).
This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.17 Å and deposited in 2004.
The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
