The structure was published by Hayashida, M., Fujii, T., Hamasu, M., Ishiguro, M., and Hata, Y., in 2003 in a paper entitled "Similarity between protein-protein and protein-carbohydrate interactions, revealed by two crystal structures of lectins from the roots of pokeweed." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.8 Å and deposited in 2003.
