crystal structure of chicken alpha-spectrin SH3 domain

The structure was published by Chevelkov, V., Faelber, K., Diehl, A., Heinemann, U., Oschkinat, H., and Reif, B., in 2005 in a paper entitled "Detection of dynamic water molecules in a microcrystalline sample of the SH3 domain of alpha-spectrin by MAS solid-state NMR." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 1.49 Å and deposited in 2004.

The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.

The PDB entry contains the structure of Spectrin alpha chain, brain. This molecule has the UniProt identifier P07751 (SPTN1_CHICK)search. The sample contained 62 residues which is < 90% of the natural sequence. Out of 62 residues 54 were observed and are deposited in the PDB.

It also contains one or more heterogenic compounds (e.g., ligands, co-factors, ions, modified amino acids, etc.); see here for a complete list.

The molecule is most likely monomeric.
