The structure was published by Fisher, Z., Hernandez Prada, J.A., Tu, C.K., et al., Govindasamy, L., Silverman, D.N., and McKenna, R., in 2005 in a paper entitled "Structural and Kinetic Characterization of Active-Site Histidine as a Proton Shuttle in Catalysis by Human Carbonic Anhydrase II" (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.0 Å and deposited in 2004.
