The structure was published by Zhang, K.Y., Cascio, D., and Eisenberg, D., in 1994 in a paper entitled "Crystal structure of the unactivated ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase complexed with a transition state analog, 2-carboxy-D-arabinitol 1,5-bisphosphate." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.7 Å and deposited in 1993.
