Structure of the reaction centre from Rhodobacter sphaeroides carotenoidless strain R-26.1 reconstituted with spheroidene

The structure was published by Roszak, A.W., McKendrick, K., Gardiner, A.T., et al., Cogdell, R.J., Hashimoto, H., and Frank, H.A., in 2004 in a paper entitled "Protein Regulation of Carotenoid Binding: Gatekeeper and Locking Amino Acid Residues in Reaction Centers of Rhodobacter sphaeroides" (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.8 Å and deposited in 2003.

The experimental data on which the structure is based was also deposited.
