The structure was published by Caruthers, J.M., Kang, I., Rynkiewicz, M.J., Cane, D.E., and Christianson, D.W., in 2000 in a paper entitled "Crystal structure determination of aristolochene synthase from the blue cheese mold, Penicillium roqueforti." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.5 Å and deposited in 1999.
