The structure was published by Ilyin, V.A., Temple, B., Hu, M., et al., Yin, Y., Vachette, P., and Carter Jr., C.W., in 2000 in a paper entitled "2.9 A crystal structure of ligand-free tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase: domain movements fragment the adenine nucleotide binding site." (abstract).

This crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction at a resolution of 2.9 Å and deposited in 1999.
