The structure was published by Matthews, D.A., Dragovich, P.S., Webber, S.E., et al., Brothers, M.A., DeLisle, D.M., and Worland, S.T., in 1999 in a paper entitled "Structure-assisted design of mechanism-based irreversible inhibitors of human rhinovirus 3C protease with potent antiviral activity against multiple rhinovirus serotypes." (abstract).
