Small template searching
These services are based about the searching of protein structure for small fragments of protein. The small fragments of structure are local through-space interactions, such as active sites, and can be fitted based on all atoms of a residue, main/side chain atoms, or just the chemical relevant part. Underlying the service is a database of fragments of structure generated by true data mining of the protein databank; ie collections of residues found based on numerical occurence within a structurally unique protein set.
