About ECI
Entry Completion Interface allows you to easily add an
"Entry" object to your CCPN project. An "Entry" object contains all the information that you wish
to deposit with your submission. You can also select chemical shift lists, peak lists,
structural restraints, ensembles, etc. and all at the click of a button. In addition,
you can add all the meta data that is required for submissions to the PDB and BMRB.
This can be done securely on your desktop computer over the duration of your NMR project.
The ECI comes in three flavours. You can run it as a tab either inside the Analysis program,
which is the main CCPN software to analyse your NMR data, or from the Extend-NMR GUI. You
can also run it as a stand-alone application.
ECI Entry
An "Entry" is basically a subset of the CCPN project, that includes only the data to be
used for deposition. It is possible to add an "Entry" object at the bottom of the
Main tab in ECI. It is also possible to add an "Entry" object in the
desktop version of FormatConverter if you do not have ECI in your distribution.
Please note, though, that you can only edit some of data you wish to submit using this
software. Go to the "Other" menu and select the option "Create/edit Entry".
If there are no "Entry" objects in your CCPN project, it will ask for a name for your new
"Entry".
Basic Usage
In ECI, when hovering with a mouse over the titles of tabs and tables as
well as widgets like pulldown menus, a tool tip will pop up presenting some brief
help text. Editable fields are indicated with a small "E" in
the bottom left corner. Sometimes data lines are shown in colour - for example,
green is often used to indicate that the
data will be submitted with your deposition.
ECI Download
ECI can be downloaded as part of the CcpNmr Analysis and FormatConverter releases from
here.
Analysis is now available for most platforms and the lightweight FormatConverter release
can be run without compilation on virtually all platforms. For a pre-compiled release
of Analysis you will need to unpack it, then "cd ccpnmr" and run "python configRelease.py"
before you can start Analysis. Notes for installation of FormatConverter can be found
in the downloaded package.
Run Analysis on your computer either with a new CCPN
project or an existing one, and then you can open an ECI window from the analysis menu
M:Structure:ECI: Database Deposition. It is
also available as a tab in the Extend-NMR GUI.
Probably the easiest option for users without Analysis is to run ECI as a standalone
application where you will get access to its menus as well. The location of the script
to do this is in the same location as the formatConverter script of this release and is
called "eci".
