ASTD release 1.0
ASTD (Alternative Splicing and Transcript Diversity Database) project is creating a database of alternative splice events and transcripts of genes from human, mouse and rat. The ASD and ATD databases have been combined into one for this release. Full length transcripts are generated with the aim of understanding the mechanism of alternative splicing on a genome-wide scale. The new database release is accompanied with greatly improved web interfaces that can be viewed at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/astd/. UniProt Metagenomic and Environmental Sequences (UniMES) database Released
The UniProt team are pleased to announce a new UniProt database. The UniProt Metagenomic and Environmental Sequences (UniMES) database is a repository specifically developed for metagenomic and environmental data.
Currently the database contains data from the Global Ocean Sampling Expedition (GOS) only. The environmental sample data contained within this database is not present in either the UniProt Knowledgebase or the UniProt Reference Clusters.
It is released in FASTA format and to add further value, we have collaborated with the InterPro team to provide a UniMES matches to InterPro methods file. Both files are available on ftp.

GOA has been cross-referenced directly in the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database. 734286 coding sequences (CDS features) in EMBL now have a cross-reference to GOA (e.g. /db_xref="GOA:P01100"), and these are hyperlinked in the EBI SRS server to the GO annotation displayed in our QuickGO browser.
