myGrid

What is myGrid?

myGrid is a multi-organisational project funded by the EPSRC as part of the UK Research Councils e-Science programme and aims to develop the necessary infrastructural middleware (e.g. provenance, service discovery, workflow enactment, change notification & personalisation) that operates over an existing Web services & Grid infrastructure to support scientists in making use of complex distributed resources. For example, myGrid should enable an "e-Biologist's" workbench.
myGrid utilises standards & technologies developed for the Internet , Grid , Web services & the Semantic Web.

The EBI's primary role in the myGrid project is to provide access to its bioinformatics archives & analysis tools through Web service technologies using open specifications. BioMOBY is an international group of biological data hosts, biological data service providors, and coders whose aim is to set standards for biological data representation, distribution, and discovery.
