CAPRI: Critical Assessment of PRediction of Interactions

Results

The targets featured the binding of a small peptide to a dimer, with two identical binding sites. The sequence of the binding segment of 12 residues was given in T135 and had to be predicted from a 50-residue segment in T134.

For T134 only those predictions that showed an overlap of at least 11 residues with the target were assessed, resulting in the assessment over 10 of the 12 residues (one falling of at each end).

Note that the assessment results might change pending a possible change in protein/peptide assessment criteria.

We are announcing the imminent launch of CAPRI Round 44.

We are announcing the launch of CAPRI Round 44 with two related targets T134 and T135. These targets are contributed by Petri Kursula from the University of Bergen, Norway

The targets are complexes of the Dynein Light Chain subunit 8 (DLC8) (a homodimer) with segments from a cognate protein. The complex was crystallized starting from both, a 50-residue segment of the interacting protein and from a 12-residue peptide from the same segment, with the resulting complexes adopting very similar structures.

The challenge for T134 is to predict which 12-residue peptide of the longer segment binds DLC8 as well as the resulting complex. For Target 135, predictors will be given the sequence of the 12 residues peptide whose DLC8-bound structure was determined. The main challenge for this target will be to produce a highly accurate model for the protein-peptide complex.

Please note, that the predictions for target 135 will open only after that those for T134 are completed. Detailed target information will be available once the prediction for each target opens.
