MolPAGE

Molecular Phenotyping to Accelerate Genomic Epidemiology (MolPAGE) is an integrated EU project that aims to develop methods and tools for discovery of biomarkers associated with diabetes (see www.molpage.org).

EBI, in partnership with the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMCS) in Riga, provide a software infrastructure for entry, annotation, access and analysis of the data acquired within the Consortium. The MolPAGE data warehouse amalgamates biological knowledge about T2D acquired by means of various transcriptomics, proteomics and metabonomics techniques.

Sub-projects

  • SIMBioMS - System for Information Management in Biomedical Studies:

    • PASSIM

      - Patient and Sample System for Information Management - a system for annotation and storage of data associated with the collection of samples in biomedical studies
    • AIMS

      - Assay and Data Management System - a central repository for proteomic, genomic and metabolomic experimental data produced by the MolPAGE Consortium
    • GeMS

      - Gene Management System - a tool for managing information about molecular entities that are involved in or expected to be associated with a biomedical study
  • MolPAGE warehouse

    - an integrated data warehouse for transcriptonomics, proteomics and metabonomics data, which facilitates discovery of diabetes-associated biomarkers
