12-17, October 2009 TimingsThe EMBO course will begin at 08:30 on Monday 12 October 2009 in the EBI IT Training Room, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton and finish at 17:00 on Saturday 17 October 2009. If you are arriving on Sunday 11 October please go to your designated accommodation; if arriving on Monday 12 October please go to the EMBL-EBI, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton. AccommodationWe have reserved accommodation for participants at Arundel House Hotel, Chesterton Road, Cambridge and The Red Lion, Hinxton with arrival Sunday 11 October and departure Saturday 17 October. Please note that these room are on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and have/will be paid for by us, but you may be asked for your credit card details at time of check in to cover the cost of any extras you may request during your stay. You will need to enter the campus through the main entrance on the first day, to allow security to create a visitor pass. A taxi will be provided for your return to the Red Lion after the dinner at Jesus College on Tuesday 13 October.
For those staying at Arundel House the Shuttle Bus Time Table is below. During the course transport by bus will be provided from the Arundel House Hotel to the EBI, Hinxton every morning and then back to the College every evening, you are more than welcome to use this service.

TravelThe closest airports to Cambridge are London Stansted Airport (approx. 30 minutes), London City Airport and Luton Airport (both approx. 50 minutes). Heathrow and Gatwick are both more than 2 hours from Cambridge/Hinxton by car (3 to 4 hours by public transport). Consequently, we advise you to book a flight that lands in London Stansted, London Luton or London City Airport. British Airways' low cost airline EasyJet, Ryanair, Virgin Express, and Lufthansa all land in Stansted and fly from most larger European cities. Some URLs for no-frills airlines landing in Stansted: Buses operate from every airport (except London City airport) to Cambridge or even Stansted airport. On Tuesday 13 October the group will attend a college dinner at Jesus College, Cambridge. Breakfast and Dinner will be provided with your accommodation and a Sandwich lunch will be provided every day outside the EBI IT Training Room. Private Drinks and telephone callsWhilst EMBO fund your attendance, accommodation and all official coffee breaks/lunches/dinners, it does not cover telephone calls made from your rooms or any drinks you may choose to purchase. There are phones in all bedrooms and calls made from these phones must be settled by you on departure. Alcoholic drinks will not be provided during the dinners. Should you wish to purchase alcoholic drinks and wine with your meal you will be able to do so at the bar at the Arundel House Hotel. ![]() |
