Airport Pick-up

The Bielefeld Group:

2 mini buses and 1 taxi will collect you from Stansted airport at 10.15 on Tuesday 16 April. The taxi drivers will be waiting for you at the Information Desk, and will have a sign with EMBL-EBI on it. So when arriving at Stansted airport please make your way to the Information Desk - it is on your left hand-side as you come out through the passenger exit. The taxis will take you to Hinxton Hall Conference Centre where you can collect your room keys. The taxi company used will be Kenway Cars, you can contact them on +44(0)1223-832515.

The Helsinki Group:

A bus will collect you from Heathrow airport at 18.55 on Tuesday 16 April. You will need to go to the Information Desk and ask them to ring the Coach Park and have your driver and bus released. At Heathrow Airport: the Information Desk is on your right hand-side as you walk out of the passenger exit - you will need to walk a short distance up the right hand-side of the concourse. The bus will take you to Hinxton Hall Security Desk where you can collect your room keys. The bus company used will be Funston's, you can contact them on +44(0)1763-838543

Accommodation and Catering

Accommodation has been reserved for you on campus at Hinxton Hall - they will direct you to the rooms when you check in and collect your keys. Please note that there will be no food served on campus on the evening of Tuesday 16 April. For all dinners on campus you will be given a dinner ticket - please give the ticket to the staff at the restaurant.

Wednesday 17 April:

Breakfast will be served in the campus restaurant - please make your way to the Conference Centre after breakfast. Lunch will be served in the Conference Centre. Dinner will be served at 18.30 in the campus restaurant

Thursday 18 April:

Breakfast will be served in the campus restaurant - please make your way to the Conference Centre after breakfast. Lunch will be served in the Conference Centre. Dinner will be in Cambridge - please see next page 'Workshop Dinner'

Friday 19 April:

Breakfast will be served in the campus restaurant - please make your way to the Conference Centre after breakfast. Lunch will be served in the Conference Centre. Dinner will be served at 18.30 in the campus restaurant

Saturday and Sunday 20 April:

Only breakfast will be served in the campus restaurant but no lunch nor dinner.

Workshop dinner - Thursday 18 April

The Workshop dinner will take place in Emmanuel College, Cambridge. A bus will collect everyone at 18.15 in front of the Conference Centre. The dinner will start with a welcome drink and we shall be seated at 19.30. The bus back to Hinxton will depart at 22.30

Travelling between Hinxton and Cambridge

Please note that public transport between Hinxton and Cambridge is not very good. You can obtain the bus timetable for buses operating between Hinxton and Cambridge and Hinxton and Saffron Walden on: http://www.uttlesford.gov.uk/saffire/travel/cambus.html There is also a campus bus service which only operates during week days; here's a timetable for these.

If you require a taxi - you can ask security to order you a taxi at any time. If you are in Cambridge and need a return taxi here are a few taxi firms:

Private Drinks and telephone calls

Whilst your attendance is funded, and includes accommodation and all official coffee breaks/lunches/dinners, as well as the workshop dinner, it does not cover telephone calls made from your rooms or any drinks you may choose to purchase.

Departure

Please leave your room keys in your room and close the door when you are ready to depart - please do not forget to leave your keys behind.

The Helsinki Group:

On Saturday 20 April a bus will collect you from the Conference Centre at 8.30 to take you to Heathrow airport for your flight BA794 to Helsinki departing at 11.40.

The Bielefeld Group:

On Sunday 21 April 2 mini buses and 1 taxi will collect you from the front of the Conference Centre at 13.15 to take you to Stansted airport for your flight departing at 15.20.
