Literature Services - Internships: How to apply
For a remote traineeship: Students should contact faculty members at their home institution to discuss the possibility of a student project/thesis using one of the tasks. If such arrangement is made than we would welcome an email at textman@ebi.ac.uk from either the student or the faculty member. There are no deadlines. The tasks are distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
For on-site traineeship: Please send us to textman@ebi.ac.uk an email application with a subject "On-site traineeship 2008". The email should contain:
- a short motivation (up to 400 words plain text in the email body). Please include the name, title/position and email address of the faculty member you will ask to send us a reference and up to 3 tasks in order of preference that you would like to work on.
- a CV with emphasis on programming skills and experience (one A4 page, preferably as a PDF attachment)
In addition, ask a professor/lecturer who has taught you to send us reference commenting your programming skills, ability to complete tasks in time, work morale and motivation. We would appreciate if your referee comments specifically on your ability to complete successfully the tasks you chose to apply for. The referee should email us his/her comments to textman@ebi.ac.uk (please use as subject "Reference for [Name of Candidate]"). Alternatively it can be printed on university letterhead stationary (please no more than one A4 page) and sent per mail to:
