Homologous Superfamily

Staphylcoagulase-like, N-terminal (IPR036205)

Short name: Staphylcoagulase-like_N

Overlapping entries

Staphylococcus aureus secretes a cofactor called coagulase. Coagulase is an extracellular protein that forms a complex with human prothrombin, and activates it without the usual proteolytic cleavages [PMID: 14523451]. The resulting complex directly initiates blood clotting.

This superfamily represents an immunoglobulin/albumin-binding domain-like fold found in staphylcoagulase.
