  • Cavin family (IPR026752)
    • Caveolae-associated protein 1 (IPR033297)

Caveolae-associated protein 1 (cavin-1; also known as polymerase I and transcript release factor or PTRF) induces dissociation of paused ternary transcription complexes [PMID: 9582279]. It plays an important role in caveolae formation and organization [PMID: 18191225]. Cavin-1 co-regulates cell polarization and migration with caveolin-1 [PMID: 22912783]. The N-terminal leucine-zipper motif in cavin-1 is essential for the protein to be associated with caveolae in plasma membrane [PMID: 25514038].
