Band 4.1-like protein 5 (EPB41L5) belongs to the protein 4.1 family, and like all members it contains a FERM domain (4.1/Ezrin/radixin/moesin) [PMID: 15475241]. The FERM domain is involved in the linkage of cytoplasmic proteins to the membrane [PMID: 9757824]. EPB41L5 is a component of the mammalian Crumbs complex involved in formation and stabilisation of adherens junctions [PMID: 17920587].
