Short name: TTC39A/B

Family relationships

Description

Tetratricopeptide repeat domain proteins 39A, 39B and 39C are eukaryotic proteins of unknown function. This entry includes TTC39A and TTC39B.

In humans, tetratricopeptide repeat protein 39A (TTC39A), also known as differentially expressed in MCF7 with estradiol protein 6 (DEME6), is expressed in primary breast carcinomas but not in normal breast tissue, and has a putative eukaryotic RNP-1 RNA binding region and a candidate anchoring transmembrane domain. It is coordinately regulated with oestrogen receptor, but is not necessarily oestradiol-responsive [PMID: 9461476].

Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 39B (TTC39B) has been linked to lipid metabolism [PMID: 20686565, PMID: 21738485].
