Regulator of G-protein signalling 1 (IPR030409)

Short name: RGS1

Overlapping homologous superfamilies

Family relationships

None.

Description

RGS1 belong to the the Regulators of G protein Signaling (RGS) protein family, whose members control the activity of G proteins through the acceleration of GTPase activity of the alpha subunits of G proteins [PMID: 23464602]. RGS1 may be involved in the regulation of B-cell activation and proliferation [PMID: 8473738]. The genetic variants in the RGS gene have been linked to susceptibility to coeliac disease (CD), an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine [PMID: 20555355].
