Family

Fatty acid transport protein 6 (IPR030309)

Short name: FATP6

Family relationships

None.

Description

Fatty acid transport protein 6 (FATP6; also known as very long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 2, ACSVL2) belongs to the FATP family, whose members facilitate long- and very long-chain fatty acid uptake [PMID: 23271751, PMID: 15469937]. FATP6 is involved in heart long chain fatty acids uptake, through which it may play a role in the pathogenesis of lipid-related cardiac disorders [PMID: 12556534].
