Vesicle-associated membrane-protein-associated protein B (VAPB) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) protein involved in vesicle trafficking [PMID: 9920726]. It plays a significant role in the process that suppresses the accumulation of unfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum, known as unfolded protein response (UPR) [PMID: 16891305]. VAPB is involved in calcium homeostasis [PMID: 22131369], and mutations in the VAPB gene are linked to autosomal-dominant motor neuron diseases [PMID: 24372953].
