Melanoma-associated antigen D4 (IPR030091)

Short name: MAGED4

Family relationships

The melanoma antigen (MAGE) protein family contains more than 25 members that share a conserved MAGE homology domain (MHD). Some MAGE antigens constitute important targets for antitumor immunotherapy. MAGED4 was originally identified as a glioma-specific antigen. It is predominantly expressed in glioma, but not in normal tissues except brain and ovary [PMID: 11406556, PMID: 24870746]. MAGED4 contributes to proliferation, migration, and invasion of tumor cells in different types of cancer [PMID: 21618523, PMID: 22459352, PMID: 23205092].
