Family

Membrane-associated guanylate kinase, WW and PDZ domain-containing protein 3 (IPR030035)

Short name: MAGI3

Family relationships

None.

Description

Membrane-associated guanylate kinase, WW and PDZ domain-containing protein 3 (MAGI3) is a scaffold protein that recruits various proteins via its PDZ domains at cell-cell junctions. It plays an important part in trafficking of TGFalpha to the cell surface in polarised epithelial cells [PMID: 15652357]. It is also involved in the regulation of the JNK signalling pathway as a scaffold protein for frizzled and Ltap [PMID: 15195140]. It is one of the binding partners for the oncoprotein E6 of the HPVs (high-risk type human papillomaviruses) [PMID: 24293186] and the Tax protein of the T-cell leukemia virus type 1 [PMID: 15003862].
